Ain’t No Logo Like a SHT show Logo

The logo for The Seattle-Havana-Tehran Poster Show is a collaborative project between two young designers at opposite ends of the earth. Edel “Mola” Rodríguez (Havana) and Mojtaba Adibi (Tehran) worked together by trading ideas, sketches and preliminary logo designs via email. The curators’ design brief was to create a tri-lingual logo that would at once identify the collective exhibit, yet allow each city/culture to retain its own independent character.

While the exhibit organizers are serious about their work, careful about the show’s curation, and emphatic about its goal of citizen-to-citizen connections, their approach is light-hearted. We asked that the logo designers to never lose sight of the necessity of entertaining an audience. Rodríguez and Adibi’s give-and-take process eventually resulted in the playful design you see here.
